This role was created after GlaxoSmithKline completed the transaction with Pfizer to combine their consumer healthcare business into a world-leading Joint Venture (on August 1st. 2019).The purpose of the role is to lead the Joint Venture integration process in Latin America, from the Quality perspective, including quality operations in the Local Operating Companies (LOCs) in markets, and quality operations in the Contract Manufacturing Organization (CMO).This position is a key role for the coordination and oversight of the integration process for quality activities in the LatAm region, and the consistent integration of quality systems and standards from an End-to-End (E2E) Quality perspective.

The transaction will include the creation of a Consumer Healthcare Joint Venture (JV), combining GSK's Consumer Healthcare business and Novartis' OTC Consumer Healthcare business.After the completion of the transaction in 2015, the third party management processes of GSK and Novartis were combined and redesigned to create a new Contract Manufacturing Organization (CMO).The GSK External Supply Quality Manager role was redesigned, creating the new CMO Senior Quality Manager role. This role is responsible for the quality oversight of external suppliers that manufacture products for GSK in the Latin America region for different markets. The contract manufactures in the scope of this role included companies located in Argentina, Chile, Mexico and Brazil.

The purpose of the External Supply Quality (ESQ) Manager’s position is to ensure that externally supplied products meet defined GSK quality expectations. This is achieved by providing quality oversight and by developing effective partnerships with external suppliers (Contract Manufacturing Operators - CMOs) as it relates to quality and regulatory matters. The ESQ Manager provides oversight to external suppliers who manufacture products in the Latin America region for different markets. The contract manufactures in the scope of this role includes companies located in Argentina, Chile and Brazil. The ESQ Manager is the key interface between GSK Quality and the external suppliers. The job entails great complexity and accountability, since the products manufactured by external suppliers are not under GSK’s direct control and management; however, GSK is accountable to ensure their quality. The role of the ESQ Manager is key responsibility to protect GSK’s reputation, as part of its quality accountability. Objectives and responsibilities of the role: support the Regional Supply Chain Vice President for Latin America with manufacturing site-related targets on cost, quality, service and EHS. Facilitate periodic reviews by working closely with the manufacturing sites in Latin America and with the Regional Supply Chain Head for LatAm. Review data coming from sites related to KPIs, identifying trends, giving support to identify areas of opportunities and potential risks.
