About Pablo Marques

Hello! I'm a multidisciplinary creative working in the fields of Digital Product Design, Visual Design, and Advertising.I'm part of a group of creatives who've participated in the flourishing age of creativity on the internet and who have evolved into creative leaders of a new generation of innovative businesses — agencies, brands, and studios that are broader, braver, and always learning and adapting to a world in flux.During this time I've written scripts for TV ads and have also written code for websites and apps. I've created "PR stunts" that made the news and have also designed digital products on which you watch the news.Most importantly, the work I've created has positively affected the fortunes of clients and their brands. In the process, I've won awards of all types. My work has featured in books about the history of news design, the history of website design, and all kinds of design annuals. On the advertising side, my work has also won awards in the likes of Cannes, D&AD, and Clios and a bunch of others.The motivation behind every move I've made in my career was a thirst for learning, I have always wanted to get close to the people I admire. In this search for new skills, I had the privilege to work in some of the most accomplished shops in the world, such as BBH, W+K, R/GA, and Publicis. Places that inspired me and gave me mentors and role models. I carry a little bit of all of them within me everywhere I go.Now, I lead a creative agency in New York. Here, I've tried to use all I've learned in this journey and all the relationships I've built to assemble a team of world-class creatives and to create a culture of excellence. One of endless learning, curiosity, and multidisciplinarity. One that allows them to not only create great work for our clients but also to reinvent themselves continually to serve our clients' ever-changing needs.Right now, we are creating a campaign to relaunch and reframe one of the most well-known internet brands in the world. At the same time, I have led from the ground up, our collaboration with NBCU on the product design of Peacock,their brand new streaming service.     Back to New York after quite a few years in London.At Elephant, I led and oversaw the agency's output in Digital Product Design, Branding, and Advertising.During my tenure, I built neat creative org with some cracking talent :) that delivered across a multitude of types of projects. Difficult to pick one highlight here but I would say that the work on Peacock might take it. We designed a whole streaming product from zero to launch in 18 months. We also won awards for music videos and ads for sex lube. Oh, and we helped rebrand an internet giant. And one more thing... a lot of work with Apple.It was a ride.

    As the ECD of the office, I was part of the exec leadership team and responsible for the creative side of the business.During my first year at the agency, we won pitches for Adidas, Specsavers, HSBC, Ikea and Aston Martin and had an almost impeccable new business record. We won a mix of work that included Advertising, Branding and Digital Product Design.On the second year, the work we did for Adidas went on to win every major award out there. Including 5 Cannes Lions in 4 different categories and 2 Clios.During this time, we made to the campaign school reports for the first time and stayed there for 2 consecutive years, with Campaign branding my first full year running the agency as being "marked by success". During my 2 years at Possible, I was also chosen as part of Campaign's A-List of the most influential people in the advertising industry in the UK.

During the time there I got to work with an old client of mine and lent a hand to a couple of friends. Out of our project, initially called Nike Number, came the very successful Nike On Demand "campaign".

    This is the place where I've learned the most in my career, and I will be eternally grateful for the time I spent there and for the people I've met on the job. BBH is special.During my years at There, I creatively directed work for Mentos, Audi, Google, Heineken, Waitrose and others. I also started and ran a young creative talent program at the London mothership called BBH Barn. During my time running the program under the "do something good famously" brief, we've produced work that went on to put BBH and its clients on television news for a considerable number of times (It was a lot, I have no idea how many times :) ) and the work we've produced with the young talent at BBH also went on to win awards at Cannes and at the D&AD.

    During my time at Publicis we've made a few fun things. My favourite one was the design of the Sky News app for the iPad. The app was deemed such a success that it went to be featured in books about the history of the news and was featured as app of the week and month on the apple store for a couple of times. Sky ended up filing a few patents on the back of our work together. We also did some good work for LG and Renault.This was my first ECD job. I learned a lot about the opportunities, burdens, and challenges of wider leadership. I was probably a little bit too eager and too young/inexperienced for the job, but it was a nice plunge at the deep end, and it taught me a lot.
