Research internship on the project titled "Plant Breeding: the genetics of flavor and flowering in horticultural crops" with Professor Charles Goulet and his lab team, of the phytology department, at Laval University in Quebec City, Canada, as part of the Globalink Research Internship Program of the Mitacs organization.I was able to learn and practice several research techniques, such as- DNA and RNA extraction from plant tissues- Genes amplification using PCR and RT-PCR - Genotyping using High Resolution Melting (HRM)- Plant and fruit volatiles analysis using gas chromatography- Primers design for gene cloning- Scaling of transformed bacteria culture- Plant genetic transformation using flower dipping technique- In vitro culture- Managing field experimental plots and greenhouses
