He has worked as a researcher for international organisations and think tanks, including the World Bank, the IADB, the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), the UNDP, the International Development Research Centre (IDRC), the World Trade Organisation (WTO), the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), the Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations (FAO), the European Commission (EC) and the United Nations Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC).
