Core developer of a new machine for the laser micro structuring of solar cells based on Synova laser processing technology. Conception and validation tests of new laser processing heads. Documentation of obtained results. Assistance in the selection of suitable lasers and optical fibres for photovoltaic applications. Conception and validation of industrial laser monitoring solutions aiming to improve the robustness of Synova laser processing machines. Enabled and supported the roll-out of these solutions for industrialisation. Expertise in laser optical engineering: laser to optical fibre coupling, beam-monitoring instrumentation. Participated in collaborations with academic and industry partners.

Took a leading role in all engineering aspects concerning the production of the preclinical PET (Positron Emission Tomography) scanner developed by the Raytest group. Responsible for the assembly of the scintillation crystals matrices, the verification and validation tests of the photomultiplier tubes and matrices in dedicated data acquisition systems as well as the supervision of the technicians that participated in the construction. Developed data correction algorithms and performed the image quantification of the scanner. Verification and validation of the scanner performances following corresponding NEMA standard. Performed quantitative analysis of PET images and sinogram analysis with IDL. Familiarity with image reconstruction methods and with other imaging techniques such as SPECT, CT or MRI.

Project Manager of the PML (Photonics Material Ltd.) – CERN collaboration contract. Spectroscopic characterization of various inorganic scintillators used for PET scanners. Design and construction of a device to automate the gamma-ray spectroscopic characterization of PET scintillators. Assistant in the quality control supervision of the construction process of a CERN experiment (CMS ECAL). Development of light collection uniformisation procedures for scintillating crystals. Performed radiation hardness tests on PWO crystals. Stability checks, calibration and maintenance of the data acquisition systems used for spectroscopic characterization of scintillators based on photomultiplier (PMT) and Hybrid Photo Detectors (HPD). Successfully coached students during their stay at CERN.
