Travelled the world, created a blog (www.worldwidemacato.com) and wrote a travel book. Taught English in Nepal as a volunteer.

Reporting directly to the General Manager and group CIO, I was responsible for IT strategy, infrastructure management and Project Management, leading business projects needing IT support. Main responsibilities:• Control of annual IT Budget of €120.000 with a 30% reduction and efficiency improvement within my management period;• Management and development of the IT Infrastructure, ERP, software and databases of a company with a €700M yearly revenue;• Managing multifunctional, multi-cultural and multi-country project teams;• Managing Security Policies including the lead Project Management of an Internal Control System project based on the Sarbanes-Oxley act;• IT Procurement and negotiation;• Writing documentation for ICT procedures, business processes and security;• Management of a Business Process reengineering project;

Under a Fulbright exchange program, I worked for Cisco Systems in California where my main responsibilities as a Network Engineer were:• Network Design• Network Technology testing for service providers• Test Automation• VPN Technology testing and configuration
