As part of the user experience group, I engaged in outreach across our campus and beyond to communicate the value that ITS delivers. I gathered feedback from our customers (students, faculty, and staff) and shared it back with ITS leadership to improve our service delivery and increase value to customers. I promoted effective collaboration by networking with people and sharing information.

Oversaw a department of 20+ employees in the division of Information Technology Services. Areas of responsibility included general assignment classrooms and computer lab support, Canvas, Sakai, Library IT, instructional technology support, media and video production, special events support, instructional applications, and design / installation of media systems. Participated on campus and systemwide committees. I enjoyed being on the leadership team for ITS during these years. We made a lot progress on improving key performance indicators and also rolled out some impactful new technologies. As IT Accessibility Officer, responsible for facilitating and monitoring the implementation of the IT accessibility program at UCSC.

Worked closely with decentralized IT staff. Promoted regional collaborations with peer institutions. Participated on campus committees.Courses taught include: Intro to Computer Science and a course designed to develop critical thinking skills in students. Assisted the GE committee redesign of this multi-section course to integrate with University of Pacific’s learning management and e-Portfolio system.
