My role… Show more During my time within TELEFONICA UK, I have been heading up a team of 25+ highly skilled architects and engineers that provided 180+ transport network designs yearly. Aligning our technology strategy with Telefonica Group has been a significant activity. This includes evolution to SDN, automation and vendor disaggregation, introduction of 5G, Active Monitoring and IP microwave backhaul. As part of the network evolution path, I have led on multiple RFPs for selecting technology partners. My role also entails developing and presenting company’s annual transport budgets and three-year plans. Ensuring effective utilisation of transmission capacity amidst a stunning growth in data traffic is also a key responsibility of my role.Some achievements so far:⇨ Implemented transport network growth to handle average 60% y-o-y increment in traffic while reducing costs.⇨ Delivered a brand new dark fibre based MPLS backbone for high-performance telecommunications transport.⇨ Managed £15M and influenced £200M annual budget.
