Senior actuary with Aon where I have worked since 2003. Since qualifying as an actuary, I have been responsible for providing actuarial and consultancy advice in relation to occupational pension schemes to a wide range of sponsors, pension scheme trustees and pension scheme members. This includes advice on funding, risk management, benefit design and restructuring, merger and wind-ups, disclosures for company accounts, impact of corporate transactions. I have also been involved in a numbers of DC and DB pension restructuring exercises which included union negotiations under the WRC and Labour Court and member communications exercises.I am a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries in Ireland, a Fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (UK) and holds a Scheme Actuary practice certificate from the Society of Actuaries in Ireland. I have a first class honours B.Sc. in Financial Mathematics and Economics from NUI Galway and I am a Qualified Financial Advisor with the LIA. I recently took the opportunity while working from home during Covid to undertaken an evening course in Project Management with UCD and was awarded a merit diploma.
