Leads teams for both the Hyland Lake Park reserve and Bryant Lake Regional Park locations within Three rivers. Provides supervision and direction to full-time, seasonal, and volunteer staff; in a manner that results in the highest possible service standards for park guests. Creates a safe and welcoming environment for the diverse communities that the park serves.Primary Responsibilities:Per season, hire and manage up to 40 employees, whose responsibility it is to efficiently, safely, and with clean operation, provide park guests the highest quality service possible.Direct the day-to-day operation of the parks.Manage the budgets for the parks and reconcile revenues for park locations.Create a culture of outstanding customer service for park users; leading to a high volume of paid services (rentals, passes and concessions), as well as high volume of repeat guests.Supervise concessions, retail sales, rental equipment, and recreational activities.Manage inventories and supply ordering.Coordinate with other departments in the Park District on a variety of projects to create successful programming and memorable experiences for guests.

The Camp operated over 8 weeks and had up to 50 students for between 2-4 weeks. There were up to 20 staff members recruited from 10 or more states and 6 nationalities. We would begin enrolling campers on October 1 and start hiring staff at around the same time. During the winter, my role as Director was to fill and staff the camp; whilst planning activities, permits and licensing for the summer season. During the summer I trained and managed the staff, and oversaw every aspect of the operation including but not limited to kitchen, maintenance, medical, travel, parent relations and activities.Primary Responsibilities:Worked with multiple agencies in the US and abroad to hire staff. Developed and implemented training programs for the staff. Managed staff day-to-day, coaching them to ensure their success and success for the program.Maintained the properties’ drinking water and septic-system, which was not connected to a City or County system. I ensured that we had safe drinking water, adhering to State standards. Managed the Camp finances from budgeting, income, expenses, payroll and assisting with tax preparation.Developed all camp activities and trips. Arranged permits to access wilderness areas for student activities.Worked closely with multiple Government agencies including the USDA Forest Service, MN DNR and the MN Dept. of Health for permitting and licensing. Building positive and effective relationships.
