The development also incorporates a landscaped 2.068 ha. public park in addition to extensively planted stream-walk, apartment courtyard gardens and neighbourhood village green.

Part of the exhibition will be focussed on James Joyce but it will also explore contemporary Irish writers both at home and abroad and how Joyce’s work has influenced generations of authors, musicians and artists. Newman House is the site of the foundation of University College Dublin by John Henry Newman and has close links with James Joyce who attended UCD as a student.

ArchitectHeneghan Peng Architects Jul 2013 - Aug 2015The Palestinian MuseumThe Palestinisn Museum is a flagship project of Taawon-Welfare Association; a humanitarian organization working to support communities in the West Bank and Gaza, and in the refugee camps and gatherings of Lebanon. It is located 25km north of Jerusalem on a hilltop site adjacent to Birzeit University and is the first Phase of a two-phase master plan for a museum ‘hub’. Phase I comprises a 3,500sm building set among 40,000sm landscaped gardens.

In his role Padhraic coordinated a range of detailed design packages for Tender Issue and was responsible for liaising with the Conservation Architects in the development of a comprehensive specification covering all Architectural aspects of the works. Padhraic also carried out regular contract administration and site supervision duties during the Construction stage of the project.

ArchitectHeneghan Peng Architects Jul 2013 - Mar 2015Maynooth Student HousingThis 300 bed student housing scheme is based on a series of interlinked three-sided quads, switching direction to respond to orientation or existing buildings.The massing of the new student apartments is organised with the highest building, seven storeys addressing the University Broadwalk, becoming a focal point at the north end of the campus. The courtyards then gradually step down to the north to link with the scale, volume, and spatial structure of the existing apartment complex.Using the repetitious module of the apartment, the three-sided courtyard house is created which allows similar buildings to be combined to make a variety of spaces. The flexibility of the courtyard house allows for buildings to be adjusted on the site without affecting the integrity of the whole, thus allowing an efficient use of land.

ArchitectHeneghan Peng Architects Jun 2008 - Oct 2012The Giants Causeway Visitor CentreThe scheme blends 1,800m² of shop, café and exhibition space, as well as parking for 200 cars, into the undulating topography of this World Heritage site. The project was winner of the WAN Best Civic Building 2013, was shortlisted for the RIBA Stirling Prize in the same year and has been awarded the BRE Environmental Assessment Method (BREEAM) ‘Excellent’ Design Stage Certificate due to the cutting edge techniques employed in the design and supporting infrastructure. Padhraic developed detailed tender and construction documentation including specific responsibility for the identification and specification of systems and materials which could achieve the required 100 year project design life within the context of a costal environment. Padhraic also carried out regular contract administration and site supervision duties throughout the Construction and Defects Liability phases of the project.

ArchitectHeneghan Peng Architects Mar 2009 - Sep 2010ARABSAT HeadquartersPart of the team responsible for the design of a 16,000m² headquarters building for the Arab Satellite Communications Organisation in Riyadh, KSA. The Headquarters contains the administrative and operational headquarters for the organisation. Padhraic developed a range of tender and construction documentation, including detailed drawings and building schedules, in addition to being responsible for coordination of architectural aspects across all Design Team specification documents.

Responsible for generating a range of Tender and Construction stage Architectural documentation, Padhraic also coordinated specification development and the delivery of hparc billing information on the project.

ArchitectArthur Gibney & Partners Sep 2003 - Aug 2005Dublin 2Áras Chill DaraKildare County Council Offices(in assoc. with heneghan peng arch.)The administrative headquarters of Kildare County Council, this project comprises 11,400m² of office accommodation and related facilities arranged in two bars enclosing a civic garden. Padhraic worked throughout the construction stage of this project, generating detailed construction drawings covering all aspects of the building. Padhraic also carried out regular site inspections with particular emphasis on fair-faced concrete, primary steel set-out & facade systems installation.
