Vp Production And Operations
Fresh Produce Sportswear is a manufacturer of knit and woven cotton-based women’s sportswear. I was originally hired as their Director of Production in 2008 and was promoted to VP of Production and Operations in 2013. I solely directed the manufacturing, warehousing, and distribution operations for an out-of-state main office. In this role, I oversaw a multimillion-dollar budget and facilities that cumulatively spanned 51K sq. ft. and manufactured 2 million units each year. I also led four department heads and 45-125 contracted personnel. Finally, I ensured on-time product delivery to 126 wholesale customers, 26 company-owned retail outlets, and hundreds of thousands of (DTC) E-commerce consumers annually. I drove management of 50 domestic and international vendors (China & India); partnered with an out-of-state main office which included the design, marketing, customer service, and accounting departments; leveraged CGS/BlueCherry ERP. My crowning achievement here was securing a multimillion-dollar reduction in the annual operating cost. I attained this by directing vendor consolidation, cross-state distribution center relocation, strategic insourcing, and product design optimization. After spending a little over five years with Fresh Produce Sportswear, I departed the company but was rehired a year later to revitalize the bankrupt business. To do so, I rebuilt key relationships with suppliers and wholesale customers. Moreover, I headed the streamlining of the workforce and product portfolio. Consequently, I grew the eight-figure revenue by 67% within five years while fulfilling profit margin goals.
