Cognizant Covid 19 Solutions- Role: Consultant and subject matter expert of the team at Cognizant Technology Solutions The first use case was an attempt to build a short-term COVID-19 projection model, an SIR Epidemic Model with Bayesian Inferencing. The insights from which allowed policy makers to trigger and modulate the social distancing measures in an effective manner, given the huge social disruption and the economic impact involved.The second use case was the hospital projections where the projection numbers were leveraged from the simulation model. The third use case was the development of a pooled testing algorithm to divide the population into three risk groups (High, Medium, Low) and group them into pools for testing, in order to achieve optimal use of testing resources while attaining high prevalence detection rates.
