• Manage a group of engineers/scientists that provide scientific/technical support, expertise and guidance to Manufacturing and Quality in the areas of Buffer and Media Preparation.• Serve as technical leader for operations within the group.• Provide input to and coordinate support from process development teams• Keep abreast of new developments/technologies in areas of responsibility. • Support ongoing development of staff to maximize individual and team performance. Serve as coach/mentor to staff.• Interact with colleagues from various Genzyme functions at the Allston Manufacturing site, in particular Engineering, Manufacturing and Quality Departments, to coordinate projects progression.• Support documentation preparation for regulatory purposes and stay current on regulatory requirements that have impact on manufacturing processes and evaluate/implement changes if required.• Provide CMC support and guidance for product life cycle management.• Attend development and scientific meetings to remain current with technology and regulatory guidelines.

1. System Owner for Harvest process / equipment including Centrifuge, Filtration skid. Also, System Owner for various other equipment including Nova Bioprofile Flex analyzer, Parts washer. 2. Lead a team of skilled individuals through the design, commissioning, qualification, startup and operation of the facility especially cell culture equipment. 3. Responsible for review of all process related documentation including P&IDs, System Requirements, System Descriptions, Functional Design Specifications and CIP, SIP circuits pertaining to cell culture equipment.4. Participated in designing, implementation of deltaV automation phases, Syncade recipe for all cell culture equipment.5. Participated in all critical process equipment mechanical inspections and FAT SAT activities. 6. Participated in validation activities, oversee construction, and make all preparations leading to a fully compliant, safe and licensed manufacturing facility. 7. Lead various projects including introduction of disposable technology into the facility, installation and IOPQ of Nova BioProfile Flex analyzer.8. Responsibilities include managing a group of individuals and managing day to day manufacturing operations.
