In 2018, I partook in the creation of a scholarship program for the Guatemalan Autism Foundation, that helps families to access special needs education in Guatemala, to low-income families who otherwise would have no recourse to services for their children in need of special educational services. To date, the Guatemalan Autism Foundation is a self-reliant and sustainable local organization and has awarded approximately 50 scholarships, from grades 1 - 11, to provide them with the enrichment and recourse to services including therapy, in some cases. My work has allowed me to be creative in the design and application of many national and international programs, funded by the Grupo Educativo Del Valle which have been put together with clear goals, establishing accountability and delineating guidelines to justify its execution and identify the real-world impact they may have in the community/ies we serve; while allowing me to garner the experience in project planning with set goals, with team management being a large part of, but not limited to, the allocation of available professional services, and trying to bring them to fruition.
