LTE/HSPA+ PROTOCOL SME - DEVICE CERTIFICATIONConducted hands-on laboratory testing of radio capabilities on a variety of LTE and HSPA+ devices, ranging from smartphones to embedded modules and M2M-connected devices in the Subscriber Product Engineering group at AT&T Labs in Austin, TX. Technical areas of responsibility included RRC, LTE Mobility, IRAT Mobility and SON features. Worked closely with/supported Device OEMs, Chipset and Test Equipment vendors during troubleshooting, integration & device test script validation activities. Other key projects included: • Technical lead on the certification of one of the first VoLTE-enabled devices to be launched on AT&T’s network. Proactively led multiple rounds of VoLTE lab testing, before & after device lab entry, uncovering device & test script issues early in the project and enabling ~100% technical approval readiness ahead of the VoLTE network launch.• Technical lead on LTE Self-Optimized Networks (SON) features. Created fully-automated set of new device tests to certify the Automated Neighbor Relations (ANR) SON feature on devices during LTE launch & beyond, receiving recognition with a VP Excellence Award for this work. • Technical lead on the LTE Connected-mode DRX (C-DRX) feature. Directed the initiative to validate C-DRX device capabilities during device certification testing and collaborated with the Battery Performance SME to characterize feature performance on various LTE devices.• Technical lead on the first release of the Radio Policy Manager (RPM) feature required on AT&T’s Connected devices – from feature conception to development and technical approval.
