As a partner in the Audit division of BDO’s Brisbane practice, I have been involved in a significant number of audit and assurance projects for clients in a broad range of industries. I have particular expertise in the areas of statutory and special purpose audits, special investigations, due diligence and corporate governance advisory.I work alongside my clients to fully understand their business and carry out audits that meet all statutory and reporting requirements. I understand the importance of effective and timely reporting to the management group and board, so I take a proactive approach to information delivery and client communication.Key assignments to date include client engagements with financial institutions, mortgage lenders, property funds, health funds, superannuation funds and listed companies. I have also provided specialist advice for property developers involved in residential community developments, residential and unit dwellings, and commercial, industrial and mixed use development sites.I have extensive retail sector experience and lead BDO Brisbane’s Retail sector team, drawing on my experience as auditor for national retailers in the electrical, hardware and home goods industries.I also have particular expertise in the hotel and gaming industries, having advised world class sporting venue and entertainment facilities for more than 20 years, and having acted as engagement partner on five star hotel and casino operations.I play an active role in the development of the professional services industry, presenting lectures and professional papers to the Australian Institute of Company Directors, Institute of Chartered Accountants, Australian Society of CPA’s, Financial Institutions Auditors’ Association, and Australasian Mutuals Institute.Specialties: Audit, preparation of expert reports, corporate restructures, financial institutions, property and construction, retail, and hotels and venue management.
