Support the City of Dallas’ core values by producing strategic content for City of Dallas departments and elected officials to reach both external and internal target audiences. This includes media releases, fact sheets, blog posts, marketing and advertising copy, memos and social media posts. In addition to developing content, I work with department liaisons to conceptualize the project and manage it from start to finish. Beyond content creation for Dallas residents, I evaluate, research, respond to and build relationships with local and national media.

Indianapolis, Indiana Area

As the communications specialist, I managed the organization's social media, website, content creation and monthly external newsletter. I assisted in conceptualizing the organization's overall communications strategies and executing media relations efforts. The latter included writing and pitching news releases and op-eds. I organized, managed and promoted both in-person and virtual events. I managed our vendor relationships with external agencies and projects for our organization's interns. I used graphic design programs such as InDesign and Photoshop to create social media graphics, fact sheets, invitations, presentations and reports.

I was the lead social media specialist at Roundpeg, managing several client social media accounts at once. This includes writing social media copy, executing advertising campaigns, responding to customer inquiries, creating graphics, and taking and editing photos and video. Outside of my social media responsibilities, I also managed email marketing and content marketing.

Worked with full-time staffers to service USA Football, a national nonprofit, and Fatheadz, an Indiana sunglasses brand. Helped plan events, created press lists, media reports and pitched to national and local media outlets. Secured several coverage pieces for my clients in both local and national media markets.

As an Associate, I conduct pre-campaign and post-campaign research for clients, develop and maintain databases, such as media lists, advise on utilizing social media in campaigns, participate is strategy sessions for clients and new business development and assist senior associates in client projects. Oklahoma City, Oklahoma Area

While interning for the Oklahoman, I reported on officer involved shootings, civil asset forfeiture laws, crisis pregnancy centers and state politics. I wrote 14 stories over the course of a summer.

I wrote 5 stories centered on the 2016 Presidential Election, covered Ted Cruz’s campaign events in Iowa and recapped Iowa caucus and Oklahoma Primary election results for Bernie Sanders.

Manage a staff of 55 reporters across four desks. Oversaw the coverage of the debate between OU President David Boren and the student group Indigenize OU on the word ”Sooner” as well as the coverage of a would-be suicide. We set our third all-time highest record for page views in the sixth week of school.

Norman, Oklahoma

Managed a staff of 15 people with a budget of $1,114. We covered President Barack Obama’s visit to Oklahoma and the sudden death of an OU professor. We set the record for highest number of page views for any summer in The Oklahoma Daily’s history.

Managed an eight-person news desk. Coordinated content during the OU SAE scandal during which we had the highest number of page views in all of The Oklahoma Daily’s history. Earlier in the semester, reported on the arrest of the student government president and covered the controversial Jack White concert.

I wrote weekly stories about OU's student government and attended their events as well. I also covered the meetings of the OU Board of Regents and wrote profiles for the Oklahoma gubernatorial candidates.
