National Pr ManagerEnglish Heritage Sep 2015 - Apr 2017London, United KingdomBuilding on my experience introducing an in-house press and PR department within English Heritage, I was appointed to the role of National PR Manager in September 2015.My day to day role involved coordinating and managing the running of a busy Press Office within the now-established national heritage charity, supporting and managing the wider PR team in dealing with media requests and planning proactive PR activity to promote the work of English Heritage.In addition to overall responsibility for seasonal and event PR, I supported colleagues on reputational communications issues, and took a lead role on national communications around Capital Investment Projects at English Heritage properties, promoting new visitor offers and investment, including leading on national PR for new exhibitions at Rievaulx Abbey in North Yorkshire and Battle Abbey in East Sussex, amongst others.My role involved overall delivery of the '1066: Year of the Normans' campaign in 2016, marking 950 years since the Battle of Hastings, including project management of the 1066 March, a 3 week, 300 mile journey undertaken by a group of re-enactors recreating King Harold's final journey.This campaign was the winner of Best Arts, Culture or Sport Campaign at the 2017 CIPR Awards.In October 2017, the English Heritage press team was named In-House Team of the Year at the PR Week Awards 2017, for sustained success during the period from April 2016 to March 2017. -
