As a surgery coordinator my primary job is to work with sales representatives to prepare and coordinate the movements of inventory for surgeries. With this knowledge and my time in customer service, I understand how operations prepare for and complete cases after the surgery has been performed. In addition I write process documentation.

As a customer service representative, one of my main responsibilities was to send pricing and collect purchase orders for surgeries at hospitals. I would also take miscellaneous orders from hospitals and would preform basic reception duties. In addition to these roles I would go and help in our warehouse performing miscellaneous jobs. Later on I took a leadership role in a major project implementing new software. While I was working on that project, I managed the training for the software in both my territory’s home office and the satellite office in the Cleveland area.

As a behavioral intervention aide, I would provide in-home applied behavioral analysis (ABA) therapy to children and teenagers diagnosed with autism. Some areas covered in therapy included pre- academic and academic skills, functional skills, social skills, self care skills and shaping self stimulatory and negative behaviors. If applicable, I would also go into the child’s school to provide support in the classroom.

As a direct support professional, I would provide personal care for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) in a supported living house or group home environment. In October 2010, I was transferred to the Welcome House Community Center, which provides day programming for seniors with IDD. My responsibilities at the Community Center included personal care, transportation to and from the Community Center and leading activities such as baking.
