Intermediate Medical Care Unit (IMCU) RN and Charge Nurse.• Charge nurse: Responsible for assigning patients for the oncoming shift, monitoring staffing, overseeing unit HAPI screening for newly admitted patients, and acting as a resource for staff nurses.• Preceptor for undergraduate nursing students in their final clinical semester. • Obtain vital signs, perform EKGs, urinary catheterizations, blood glucose monitoring, and bladder scans. Implement and maintain cardiac monitoring. Recognize common arrhythmias and report to the provider. Apply fiberglass splints and fit crutches to patients.• Serve as unit secretary when needed. Duties include answering phones, preparing transfer paperwork, and sending out pages.
