I worked with children from surrounding primary and secondary schools thinking about their goals and aspirations and informing them about further and higher education. I developed a science workshop which I deliver to Year 6 students enabling a smooth transition to secondary school science and I have been a summer school ambassador taking care of students, ensuring their safety and well being on residential summer schools as well as providing teaching support and entertainment.

I assisted the teacher in the classroom, helping either with class work or coursework either in small groups or on a one-to-one basis. I worked with groups from Year 7-10.

Between 2009-2010, I spent one afternoon a week volunteering in a classroom working with children mainly on their reading, whom for many English was a second language, ICT skills and Maths. The summer term of 2012, I spent several weeks in the Year 6 classroom helping with their primary transition programme preparing the children with the necessary skills they would need for moving onto secondary school.

During this role, I organised a number of guest lectures and social events for members of the society as well as developing a training programme which was delivered to members of Avon and Somerset Constabulary, primarily Special Constables, on Forensic Awareness. As a result of the work which the committee and I carried out, we won the UWESU Achievement Award at the annual award ceremony.
