My interests in social justice began with the food system, sparking a journey to educate myself about farming, bioregional stewardship, and the intersection of minority identities and food access. With over five years of experience working with families and children, I have gained an in-depth understanding of the nuances present within each social system and how racism, classism, and other discrimination determine who has access to what resources. It is my hope to address and change these systems through clinical practice at the individual and community levels. My areas of clinical experience and interest include:-ADHD-Anxiety-Bipolar Disorders-Crisis Intervention-Depression-Eating Disorders-Grief-LGBTQ+-Mindfulness-Personality Disorders-Polyamory-PTSD-Sex-positive, kink-allied-Sexual issues-Solution-focused brief therapy-Survivors of intimate partner violence or sexual assault-Trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapyAs a new social worker, I am still learning how to incorporate anti-racism into my practice, which will be an ongoing and lifelong process. Through my privilege, I will help dismantle oppressive systems while utilizing evidence-based therapeutic practices to help others heal from the trauma and heartbreak that are everpresent in our society while uplifting the voices of BIPOC in the process.
