Hosted at San Diego State University, The Center for Skateboarding, Action Sports, and Social Change promotes evidence-based, academic research on the global impact of skateboarding and other action sports. Oversee the progress and completion of research projects and collaborations with on and off campus partners. Responsible for supporting the Director and Associate Director by overseeing project coordination and logistics, including identifying existing resources, brainstorming, identifying and gathering information on funding opportunities, and coordinating content conversations and content development.

SDSU’s Center for Community Energy and Environmental Justice (CCEEJ) is an EPA and DOE-supported Environmental Justice Thriving Communities Technical Assistance Center. The CCEEJ aims to support community organizations across the region (American Sāmoa, Arizona, California, Guam, Hawai'i, Nevada, and the Northern Mariana Islands) strengthening their capacity and effectiveness in applying to, managing and implementing environmental and energy justice grants and programs. - Manage project reporting, timelines, and budgets. - Ensure compliance with EPA and national policies related to project operations- Plan, coordinate, and complete internal events such as off-sites, team building events and organizational-wide meetings.- Plan, coordinate and implement external events for CCEEJ community partners (webinars, trainings, community conversations, etc.)- Create outreach material for the Center (to be dispersed on website, social media, and other online platforms)- Assist with intake of community organizations requesting technical assistance from CCEEJ- Assist community-based organizations through the grant application process (e.g., identifying grant opportunities for organizations, understanding NOFOs/RFAs, grant proposal review, etc.)- Assist with the development of technical assistance plans for organizations (e.g., connecting with relevant experts and partner organizations in the CCEEJ network, providing grant-related support, and identifying external resources when necessary)- Coordination of regular grant writing trainings - Conduct community outreach via presentations and stakeholder engagement at community events and conferences- Develop and maintain Quality Assurance Project Plan (QAPP) for CCEEJ operations

As a member of Sprout's Board of Directors, my primary role is focused on fundraising efforts and outreach for The Sprout Experience, an Ohio-based nonprofit organization. My other responsibilities include managing the organization's internship program and leading immersive environmental education programs around the world.

Responsible for designing and implementing the internship program in conjunction with Sprout’s existing programsResponsibilities include:- Mentor interns and monitor their progress throughout their internship experience to ensure they are reaching their benchmarks towards earning academic credit for graduation- Help lead interns and participating students on educational TEAM adventures (both domestic and international)- Conduct outreach efforts to universities and environmental programs to promote Sprout internship opportunities

Intern who has assisted with the various transition phases of the organization and has assisted in leading immersive education programs in Trinidad & Tobago and Florida for high school and college-age students. Responsibilities include:- Develop environmental education aspect/curriculum of Trinidad & Tobago program by drafting out lectures and educational material and interacting with participating students and monitoring progress with a focus on immersive learning.- Conduct background research for an analytical report on community-based conservation initiatives involving blue & gold macaws and leatherback sea turtles to incorporate into the curriculum. - Work with local scientist Bernadette Plair and CRESTT (Centre for the Rescue of Endangered Species of Trinidad and Tobago) to learn about community impacts on macaw populations and how community initiatives can be implemented into conservation projects.- Work with Nature Seekers conservation organization to learn and compare current methods of research, protection, and conservation on leatherback sea turtles.- Maintain the social media page for The Sprout Experience on Facebook.- Helped transition program from what was formally called The Maasai Music Project into a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization (now known as The Sprout Experience)

Research Assistant for project entitled “Impact of Nonsmoking Constraints on Tribal Casino Operations” funded by California Department of Public Health through the San Diego State University Research Foundation.Responsibilities include:- Work directly with Principal Investigator to coordinate and organize tasks and deadlines for project - Assist in communicating with university IRB office to file amendment requests when necessary- Take and organize minutes for regular meetings- Meet with tribal casino representatives to learn more about casino operations and discuss potential partnerships with the project- Coordinate schedules of team members to organize meetings - Collect background data on tribal casinos in California to be used in project publications- Assist in drafting bi-annual progress reports sent to the CA Department of Public Health- Use Qualtrics to create surveys for research purposes

Graduate Assistant under project funded by the National Science Foundation called the “Recherche Collaborative Pour la Pêche à Moorea” (Collaborative Research for Moorea’s Fishery) that is affiliated with the Moorea Coral Reef Long Term Ecological Research Site (MCR LTER) In collaboration with investigators from UC-Santa Barbara and Florida State University, this project explores the relationships between livelihood strategies, fishing practices, and shifting dominance of coral and algae in the lagoon around Moorea, French Polynesia. My personal research is focused on studying community-based conservation and marine protected areas in Moorea as part of master's thesis.
