During a time in society where sports were on pause, I took part in the Iowa Sport and Recreation Program’s Inaugural Agency Field Experience Internship. Throughout the summer, I had the opportunity to: • Work on my professional development and grow my network. • Collaborate with my peers to work out current issues and conversations arising in the sports industry.• Succeeded during the opportunity to work with organizations and companies not only in the Iowa City area but around the state of Iowa. • Furthered my knowledge in Microsoft Teams as well as through other innovation videos and webinars.

• Provides general support to the Athletics Event Management unit coordinating event management and special events.• Coordinate pre-planning activities, including communicating with visiting teams, officials, television, other Athletics units, vendors and external entities.• Recruit, schedule, and train event personnel and volunteers.• Develop sport-specific event management, visiting team and Championship/Tournament manuals.• Conduct on-site management activities, including fulfillment of working staff, volunteer and team needs.• Assist in the planning and management of Big Ten and NCAA Championship events.• Act as a liaison between Athletics units, University service units and organizations and community businesses to conduct operations.• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Supported and worked events such as the 2019 NBA Draft, the 2019 WNBA All-Star Game, and the Jr. NBA World Championship.• Assisted and produced in-event promotional activation and marketing as well as in-arena hosts and talent segments. • Worked with the Project Management Team for upcoming international games and wrapping up seasons end events. • Supported both the Content Business Operations and Live Programing and Entertainment teams with day to day administrative tasks.
