Lead the Datavant Platform Engineering org a team of 50 onshore and 30 offshore supporting 6000 employees and 5 disparate lines of business. The org is comprised of 8 teams dedicated to Data Platforms, Infrastructure Operations, Developer Tooling and QA. Platform Engineering is responsible for providing support across the entire Datavant Portfolio which includes: Life Sciences research and data matching product, medical chart retrieval service lines, payer coding automation and manual workloads, automated small batch medical record retrieval, risk adjustment modeling data and expert determinations with EU based experts.Responsible for driving a merger and reorganization of four infrastructure and developer support groups into a unified organization delivering increased value through standardization and economy of scale. Delivered a multi cloud and data center based infrastructure strategy to support both in-house development and hosting as well as self hosted 3rd party tools. The strategy also provided architectural standards and observability guidelines improving infrastructure quality and developer impact. This strategy covered a 30M cloud budget, driving 2.1M in savings in H2 of 2024 and enabling business critical FedRAMP, Soc2 and HITRUST certifications.Developed a 3 year vision to standardize around a shared SDLC with Kubernetes based containerized hosting and open source data solutions integrated with a unified Snowflake data lake fully scalable as infrastructure as code. Lead implementation the first year of this work with an incremental value delivery model reducing developer security burden and improving developer productivity. Hired and grew Data Infrastructure and Engineering as a new discipline at Datavant, providing critical support and a fully unified data strategy for the first time at Datavant.
