The refinery process engineering role plays a pivotal role in achieving safe, compliant, and optimized operations. The Production Planning Scheduler sits in the Commercial department at the refinery. Overseeing secondary products, this role entailed balancing inventories of asphalt, decanted cycle oil, sulfur, and petroleum coke through utilization of scheduling tools, management of DOT/FRA compliant bills of lading for truck and rail product shipments, and interfacing with refinery asset teams on loading rack maintenance activities, rail loading schedules, and personal safety. My stretch contributions include:- Headed a multidisciplinary task force on a significant containment risk due to product quality upsets and offtake constraints- Headed a task force and developed a planning basis and contingency plans for a US railroad strike in Fall 2022- Introduced digitization to reduce redundant workload of the position, which unlocked 33% more time to dedicate to value-added work- Reviewed the site's rail fleet sizing strategy and issuing a recommendation for a 15% decrease in leased cars based on annual production rates - Developed product quality transition plans for asphalt sales to ensure continuity of offtake during a site turnaround

This work spanned across Operations, Maintenance, and Technical teams. - Delivered a macro-powered Excel tool used by the on-call team that reduced the time needed to determine risk of hitting regulatory limits during LOPCs by 70%- Utilized Microsoft Visio to complete a QAQC process on 30 process flow diagrams. - Leveraged Six Sigma data analysis in Minitab to identify discrepancies between 2 databases of opacity readings, creating a technical recommendation that was issued to the stakeholders

As the Board Chair of Leadership, I oversaw a team of four Vice Chairs, supporting their personal and professional development to ensure they were successful in their roles leading their respective committees. This was accomplished through the following responsibilities: - Lead weekly two-hour meetings with colleagues to discuss how to effectively program and educate USF students on leadership topics such as authentic leadership, conflict management, leadership styles, and professionalism- Facilitated conversations with the group members regarding leadership concepts including diversity, values, team dynamics, and positive social change to align with the CLCE's Mission and Vision statements- Created and presented a 5-part professionalism workshop series on resume building, public speaking, elevator pitches, LinkedIn use, and networking- Implemented assessment strategies for programming including surveys and a focus group

The Orientation Leader serves as a leader, supporter, facilitator and coach to first year students and their families and guests to provide a seamless transition to USF. The position is part of a larger Orientation Team that works together to maintain the core competencies of the office: servant leadership, critical thinking, communication, emotional intelligence, self-management, and congruence with purpose. As a team, the office provides provide high-quality education, support and transition resources to nearly 12,000 students annually. Personally, I mentored 150 new students while excelling my personal skills to align with the office's core competencies.
