My primary function is to care for the emergency department patients through the provision of clinical pharmacy services. These include medical resuscitations, rapid sequence intubations, stroke and myocardial infarction care for patients of all ages. I also provide critical care services for inpatients that have not been admitted to the intensive care units including vasopressors, antibiotics, fluid management and anticoagulation. I also precept student pharmacists and general as well as critical care pharmacy residents.

I precept pharmacy students in their final year of extern clearkships. Current pharmacy studetn rotation is general surgery with some exposure to sickle cell day hospital activities. Previously precepted the general hospital pharmacy extern clerakship.

My primary function is order processing, review and clarification for the surgical floor at Truman Medical Centers-Hospital Hill (TMC). Clinical responsibilities include rounding with General and Trauma surgical service in addition to the Orthopedic surgical service. I also participate in a multidisciplinary sickle cell outpatient clinic and day hospital caring for over 100 + sickle cell patients withing the Kansas City, Missouri metropolitan area. Precepting responsibilities include general surgery for the TMC PGY-1 pharmacy practice residency and trauma surgery for the TMC PGY-2 critical care pharmacy practice residency.

I was exposed to clinical pharmacy operations within a rural hospital with an emphasis on pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of antibiotics, optimization of pain management and participation in a multitude of rotations including: internal medicine, general surgery, critical care medicine, cardiology, oncology, and infectious diseases. I also participated in a study sponsored by industry observing PK and food interactions with multiple antibiotics and conducted a literature review on potassium chanel specific antiarrhythmics.
