Software architect & software engineer with expert knowledge in service-oriented and event-based architectures, service orchestration with workflow engines, semantic Web technologies and the GIS/geospatial service stack. My projects focus on the digital transformation in the German public sector. Typical challenges here are the integration of record management systems with existing domain-specific legacy applications or optimizing business processes using new paradigms like self-learning systems. I did my PhD about the discovery of place names in crowd-source annotations on the Web. I was involved in several research projects, and managed the technical coordination of a European FP7 project. Other interests are the real-time discovery of, reasoning on, and visualization of events in sensor data streams, the intersection between social web applications and the more traditional geospatial applications, and anything remotely related to linked data.I am currently not looking for a new position (but I am always open for interesting challenges and discussions).
