Child Psychiatry Program

-Provide evidence-based nursing care to patients with psychiatric disorders as well as other comorbid conditions with the supervision of a registered nurse preceptor-Administered topical, oral, intramuscular, and intravenous medications under the supervision of registered nurse preceptor. -Implemented concepts of therapeutic crisis intervention and medication treatment to manage patients experiencing acute crises. -Developed care plans, educational materials, and safety contracts for patients and families -Completed inpatient admissions, along with complete psychiatric assessment, safety search, and medication requisition.

-Work collaboratively with a team of housing staff, food staff, and University Health Services to arrange for housing, food, and COVID-19 testing for at-risk students-Use critical thinking and organized problem solving to establish connections between COVID-19 cases-Communicate with student to address concerns and provide continuous informational support while students are quarantining-Conduct daily check-ins with patients in my case load to check COVID-19 symptoms-Navigate multiple health management systems and electronic medical records systems, such as EPIC and Salesforce
