Work closely with national and multinational corporations in strengthening their position in the Nordic and Norwegian markets. Draft, develop and execute market access strategies, stakeholder engagement plans and corporate strategies for clients. Provide detailed political and economic risk assessments for clients related to the Norwegian market. Have drafted and executed government relations strategies related to, for instance, a large petroleum related acquisition on the Norwegian continental shelf. Regular interaction with Government representatives, ministries, directorates and relevant public institutions on behalf of clients.

Developed and managed part of a NOK 250 million scheme for private sector development in emerging markets, which involved in-depth political and economic risk assessments of the projects, due diligence of local partners and close dialogue with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Norwegian embassies. Drafted grants scheme proposals on strategic partnerships between Norad and private corporations, as well as programs for vocational training and job creation in developing countries (Skills for Jobs). Drafted and coordinated the section’s comments and inputs to the Government White Paper «Working Together» (Sammen om Jobben), several of which were reflected in the final version of the White Paper debated in parliament. Organized an international waste management conference with a broad range of international delegates that led to business matchmaking and joint projects in developing countries. Organized a business matchmaking trip in Oslo for the Tunisian Nobel Laureate delegation in December 2015, which led to discussions on joint projects between the two countries. Co-chaired and represented Norway in a strategic process in the OECD among thirty other nations, a multitude of global petroleum and mining companies, multilateral institutions and NGOs which developed a joint framework for local value- and job creation in the extractive sector (oil, gas and mining). The framework is currently being piloted in several OECD countries.

Political adviser in the Norwegian Parliament (Stortinget). Advised relevant MPs as well as the party’s leadership on energy and environmental policies on national and international scale. Worked closely with the Government’s MPs in the Standing Committee on Energy and the Environment, making sure the Government’s policies were adopted by the Parliament. Close dialogue with the political leadership in the Ministry of Petroleum and Energy, and the Ministry of Climate and Environment. Drafted the parliamentary comments on White Papers, private law proposals (Dok:8) and the State Budget. Regular contact with media and journalists within the energy and environmental fields. Delegate and speaker at various national and international conferences.

Led on developing the Progress Party’s foreign- and development policy, which according to independent sources in Norad and NUPI was considered the most innovative of all parties in Parliament. Advised the party’s leadership and relevant MPs on foreign- and development policies. Responsible for drafting policy proposals for the state budget, private law proposals and other initiatives, which involved extensive dialogue with external stakeholders such as research institutes and the civil society. Took a leading role in supporting the ratification of the free trade agreement between Norway/EFTA and Colombia, coordinated on Norwegian and Colombian bilateral visits, and liaised between both Parliaments. Drafted the Foreign and Defense Committee’s parliamentary comments on the White Paper of the High North (2012), which involved extensive dialogue with stakeholders on infrastructure, energy, environment and business development in the Arctic region. Maintained contact with Norwegian and international foreign policy press, coordinated and attended political delegations to a broad range of countries such as Colombia, Rwanda, South Sudan, Saudi Arabia and United States.

Appointed State Secretary in the Government of Erna Solberg (2013-). Responsible for economic diplomacy and promoting Norwegian businesses and companies abroad. Managing Norway's bilateral relations with countries in Latin America and Asia. Overseeing the Government's work on corporate social responsibility and cultural affairs internationally.Leading political delegations to various markets, and opening doors for Norwegian companies.

Visiting scholar at the Institute for European, Russian and Eurasian Studies (IERES), Elliott School of International Affairs. Conducted extensive research on energy security, attended a program on global energy markets and took actively part in the academic work of the institute. Gave a keynote speech on Norway's foreign policy in the Arctic at an international conference. Gave guest lectures at various institutes, including a presentation on natural resource management and security in Sub-Saharan Africa. Wrote and presented a risk assessment of the Nigerian petroleum economy and the long-term effects of attacks on oil and gas pipelines on global energy markets.Coordinated and moderated a high-level panel debate with several Kurdish/Iraqi Ministers and a former US ambassador to Kuwait on the security situation in Iraq, which attracted the attention of five international tv-teams and a large audience.

Visiting scholar in the Europe Department. Researched on various energy related topics, including US policies in the Arctic, regional energy markets in the Middle East and energy infrastructure attacks in the Niger Delta. Actively participated in CSIS activities and hosted seminars and conferences. Participated in a high-level delegation invited to Kurdistan by the Kurdish Regional Government together with foreign dignitaries, ministers and US military advisers. Met with President Barzani, Foreign Minister Mustafa and several government ministers, which later participated at a jointly coordinated roundtable in Washington DC.

Visiting Fellow in the Office of Chief Deputy Majority Whip Peter J. Roskam (Ill), House of Representatives, United States Congress. Took part in the daily activities of the Congressional office, including attending Deputy Whip and Whip-meetings in Congress and coordinating meetings with State Department, NGOs, private sector and lobbyists. Tasked with developing a policy strategy on how to combat human trafficking in the US and abroad. Coordinated a successful campaign, which involved dialogue with several Congressional offices, both in the House of Representatives and the Senate, as well as NGOs and research institutes. Drafted policy proposals on human trafficking in India and Mauritania, and drafted letters to Secretary of State John Kerry and State Department on behalf of Congressman Roskam. Developed an extensive network of contacts in Washington DC, which has proven to be of great value in later career.
