Commercial Operations Manager, Process & Training

LifeScan is a global leader in glucose monitoring and diabetes management offering a comprehensive portfolio of diabetes related products and services. It was a Johnson & Johnson (J&J) company from 1986 to 2018, before being sold to Platinum Equity. In this role, I strategized and led the implementation of effective processes and training for the Commercial Operations teams across Canada, USA, and Mexico, continuously improving the efficiency of supply chain operations and OTC management.I significantly facilitated training organization-wide by compiling an inventory of training presentation materials, videos, work instructions, and desk process maps and creating a new Process Catalogue document library on SharePoint. This resource saved significant amounts of time for Team Leads, who praised the initiative.

Customer Experience Manager, Americas

Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada

This was a very fast-paced and exciting time as we prepared for a new stand-alone LifeScan organization upon termination of transition services by J&J. I defined and upheld the business requirements to seamlessly transition key accounts to LifeScan as a separate organization in Canada, USA and Mexico.I was responsible for establishing and managing a new Center of Excellence of Customer Experience, based in our LifeScan Canada office in Burnaby BC. We also expanded our support to include US and Mexico markets and offered customer service in English, French and Spanish. In six months, I grew a high-performing team from 4 to 20 Team Leads, Senior Analysts, and Customer Experience Reps responsible for order management, distribution operations, and accounts receivable. I implemented cost controls to meet budgets and optimized processes to increase cash flow and reduce customer receivables.During this period, I also represented our Americas team on the global implementation of JDE EnterpriseOne 9.2 ERP to transition from SAP. This was a core requirement and key milestone for the new company to be one single global ERP instance. We delivered that project within target timelines and significantly improved financial controls and quality system processes.

We also achieved annual targets of $50-150K for Cost Improvement Projects (CIP) continually finding new ways to reduce our cost to serve while maintaining our high service level standards.I found resounding success in preparing for the separation from J&J while in this role. LifeScan Canada was recognized as ‘best in class’ throughout the global organization in terms of subject matter expertise within the team and our efficient and compliant operational processes . I took the lead on mission-critical endeavors that ensured continued success and stability and a seamless transition for our key accounts throughout the divestiture.
