Executed complete and sub-system mechanical design projects for phases of scientific study and applied technology, including:• Synchrotron beamlines – Principal components for horizontal beam defining aperture; photon shutter;• Ion source development – Next generation hybrid ion source design, build, test and evaluation, leading to white-paper co-authorship;• RF (Radio Frequency) ion beam transport amplifier magnet assemblies – Standardized fiducial mounting system for magnet modules; CAD large assembly management;• Neutrino detector calibration system – Disassemble-able articulating arm system for sweeping spherical envelopes, leading to patent on tubular quick torque coupling (QTC);• Dark matter detector – 5 mK (milli-Kelvin) cryostat assembly, including 6-fold nested e-beam welded OFHC copper cylinders with interstitial kevlar-epoxy and vespel thermal constraint system;• Anti-particle detector – Carbon-fiber space frame supporting 5-fold nested cylindrical silicon sensor array with conic-conformal miniature square brass tubular cooling system. Successful installation at Stanford led to key findings in physics by researchers recognized by the Nobel Prize in 2008.
