Retired from AEW Capital Management LP on 12/31/21 after 26 years as a Managing Director and Head of AEW’s Direct Investment Business, the largest of the firm's three U.S. business units with responsibility for all investment activities on behalf of core and value-added client mandates. Was responsible for the asset and portfolio management of $30 billion + of gross assets invested in nearly all property types(including seniors housing) owned in commingled funds and separate accounts; and investing approx. $2B of equity annually. During tenure, lead the growth in assets under management from $5B to $30B +. Served as a Member of AEW’s Management, Investment, and Risk Management Committees as well as the firm's Environmental, Social, & Governance, and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committees. Outside of AEW, was active in many industry organizations(NAREIM( Board member and former Chair), NAIOP( Board member and former Executive Committee member), and ULI(served as an Investment Committee member, Product Council Chair and trustee of the Urban Land Institute). Serves on the Board of Directors and Chairs the Administration and Finance Committee of the United Way of Mass Bay; and previously served as Board Vice Chair and Chair, Chair of Real Estate Committee, and member of the Investment and Finance Committee of The Home for Little Wanderers, a Boston based family service agency.

Worked( one of ten founding employees) at Copley Real Estate Advisors, a U.S. based real estate investment advisor and asset manager in several investment roles during tenure including acquisitions, asset and portfolio management and Chief Operations/Administrative Officer. In connection with these roles and the day to day responsibilities and requirements for success, involved in fund formation,structuring, and portfolio strategy, investment strategy, asset and fund level management, debt sourcing and execution, joint venture negotiations, structuring and partner relationships, capital raising, client relationships, asset valuations, investment performance and equity and debt restructurings( resulting largely from the 1990's real estate downturn). Upon a merger with AEW Capital Management LP, was a senior member of the leadership team responsible for restructuring the organization and assessing its people, processes and best practices along with taking on the role as the Head of the combined business unit( Direct Investment Group) for all core and value added investment mandates. As a part of this, was charged with the successful disposition of over $10 B in legacy funds.
