I am a supervisor for the NVUSD Intern/Trainee Mental Health Program. Our program trains registered interns and practicum students to provide individual psychotherapy to K-12 students in exchange for supervision and hours toward licensure. I have over 9 years of experience as a clinical supervisor and 16 years of experience as a therapist and case manager in Napa County.I have been learning about and practicing meditation for 30 years. Two years ago I completed a yearlong teacher certification program through Mindful Schools. I have a master's degree in physiology and a background in neuroscience research. I am currently developing a mindfulness-based therapeutic curriculum to address stress, trauma, anxiety, anger and depression in teens, which incorporates neuroscience research and principles. I teach therapy interns and practicum students how to use mindfulness to develop their own therapeutic presence and how to incorporate mindfulness and research findings in their treatment. I also teach mindfulness in elementary school classrooms and coach teachers to teach mindfulness to their students.I have a private practice in Napa where I have been providing individual and family psychotherapy for the last 9 years. I specialize in helping children and adults cope with trauma, anxiety, depression, relationship problems and stress. I am certified in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.
