Pam West has dedicated her entire career to serving and advocating for individuals with developmental disabilities. Since becoming the first African American woman in the state of Illinois to receive an IDHS Community Integrated Living Arrangements (CILA) license to provide services to persons with developmental disabilities, she has worked to expand disability awareness, economic opportunities, and community integration.Pam West is the CEO of West Consulting, specializing in all state and federal licensing regulations and the development of organizations to serve and provide residential support for persons with developmental disabilities. West Consulting provides technical assistance and professional oversight to social service agencies in the areas of IDHS (Illinois Department of Human Services) programs, (CDS) Community Day Services, DCFS (Department of Children and Family Services) and licensure and certification for CILA (Community Integrated Living Arrangement. Ms. West has provided leadership training and state compliance guideline interpretation since 1992 as well as technical assistance in the area of state licensing for more than 200 organizations now serving over 1000 individuals with developmental disabilities.Committed to improving the lives of vulnerable populations, Pam West is the Director of Residential Services for multiple organizations, a member of the Behavior Management Committee for persons with developmental disabilities for 5 organizations, serves as Chairperson for the Human Rights Committee for several not-for-profit organizations and the President of the board for a not-for-profit organization serving persons with developmental disabilities.She is an Illinois Department of Human Services (IDHS) Certified Qualified Intellectual Disability Professional (QIDP), an Illinois Department of Human Services (IDHS) Certified Qualified Intellectual Disability Professional (QIDP) trainer, an IDHS Curriculum Direct Support Professional (DSP) Instructor and an Office of the Inspector General (OIG) state certified curriculum trainer, CILA investigator and a mandated reporter. She has served as a member of the Sinai Community Institute Events Planning Committee, the DuSable Museum Events Planning Committee, a judge for United Way Leadership Awards, was inducted into the NAACP Women Who Lead organization and received the MVP Award from NBC Chicago for leadership and fundraising initiatives while serving on the NBC Community Events Committee.Additionally, she currently serves as a commissioner for the Monee Planning and Zoning Board.
