Co-authored the species’ occurrence reports. • Led and managed the northern Idaho ground squirrel (NIDGS) monitoring team (3-5 people). Coordinated and conducted surveys and trapping sessions throughout April, May, and June for the last three years. Co-authored the annual population monitoring progress reports. Organized metapopulation and colony data into an Access database that may be used to create a website for the use of the NIDGS recovery team, which involves a number of agencies.• Sampled vegetative/species-specific cover at NIDGS trapping sites using Daubenmire plots. Collected samples of all plant species found within trapping sites to create a library of potential NIDGS food sources for a long-term cattle competition study for Dr. Eric Yensen, Department of Biology, of the College of Idaho. • Constructed and set out hair snare grids and set up bait stations with game cameras to collect hair for DNA sampling and obtain picture proof of fisher and wolverine presence in the McCall Subregion.• Assisted in aerial elk surveys in the main Salmon River, South Fork of the Salmon River, and Johnson Creek drainages and mule deer surveys across southwest/central Idaho winter range.• Assisted in a black bear DNA study that involved constructing baiting cubbies, setting up foot snares for capture, using jab sticks to administer tranquilizers, and collecting hair, tooth, and blood samples as well as taking general body size measurements. • Operated telemetry equipment to locate mule deer being monitored for a statewide mortality study and retrieved collars sending mortality signals during the winter/spring 08-09 in the McCall Subregion.• Spring 2009 greater sage-grouse nocturnal trapping/collaring in central Idaho.
