During my time at Garrison Rd. Public School, I was fortunate to be a part of the Kindergarten classroom. I guided activities and adapted to the interests of all children within the classroom, while meeting 'The Kindergarten Program' guidelines.I addressed conflict situations by giving brief and clear descriptions of unacceptable behaviour and discussed possible outcomes or consequences with children, while working on building empathy and re-channeling power. I modeled a culture of caring, communication, and reflection.

During my time at Top of the Ridge daycare I worked in the toddler room. I naturally adapted to the classroom routines and assisted educators in all aspects of the program. The activities and provocations I implemented were well integrated into the program and met the children where they were at, while also providing them with a natural progression in skill development. Developmentally appropriate activities followed 'How Does Learning Happen?', and the "ELECT" document.

During my time at Fort Erie Regional Daycare I worked in the toddler room, where I implemented activities and provocations according to the children's interests, and 'How Does Learning Happen?', as well as the "ELECT" document. Working with a wonderful educator, I was comfortable to integrate ideas and work alongside the children. Summer brought many opportunities for outdoor activities and water experiences. I enjoyed bringing a Tipi outside for the children to read books in, it provided shade and a cozy place to be alone or with a friend. I assisted in the kitchen where needed and in other classrooms within the Centre when called upon. I was capable of evaluating the environment and prioritizing next steps within the program.

ACW at John Brant was my first placement returning to the ECE Program. Prior to my career I volunteered and completed hours at Valleyway Daycare, many years ago. Stepping foot into the preschool room came naturally to me, and I analyzed the environment quickly setting goals for myself through observation and documentation. I introduced myself to all of the children in the classroom as well as educators. I identified areas where I could be of service and clarified with educators in order to build a collaborative relationship.
