Brought in to professionally manage business and operations to qualify for financing and prepare business for sale/acquisition by setting up processes and increasing profitability (both objectives successfully achieved).

Automotive EV Start-up funded by private equity, responsible for delivering aluminum intensive body and closures designs consisting of stampings, extrusions, and castings, for a plug-in hybrid commercial vehicle and multiple product variants, meeting the program objectives of cost, weight, investment, and manufacturability. Accountable to direct and coordinate all development plans, design activities, cross-functional integration decisions, and virtual analysis initiatives to integrate and deliver full vehicle level objectives for passive safety, durability, and NVH.Created and maintained work process, timelines, key program metrics, required controls, staffing, and operating budget to execute program within commercial targets. Managed and allocated manufacturing budget of $65 million, operating budget of $18.8 million, and annual variable cost budget of $300 million.

Projects varied from government research related to Dept. of Defense (D.O.D.) and National Highway Traffic and Safety Administration (NHTSA), to commercial projects for clean energy, electric vehicles and heavy equipment. Clients included electric vehicle manufactures (Tesla), heavy equipment (John Deere), trucking companies, stamping facilities, auto suppliers (HPP), program management (Management Engineers), and Vehicle Systems Consulting (Ricardo, Inc.).In addition: Member of Adjunct Faculty for College Mathematics; Oakland University & Mott Community College. Responsible for simulation (both process and department) along with testing development and integration for NVH, Durability and Safety on all Jeep products, Large Car products (300, Challenger, Charger) and Viper. Known as Chrysler during this period.Project management leader for Vehicle System Integration and Performance Objectives of seven vehicle lines which included coordinating product development activities across CAE, Testing, Vehicle Development, and Product Engineering Organizations.Created Speed-To-Market Process which achieved a 50% reduction development time, 40% reduction prototypes & verification testing, resulting in an overall savings of $45 million for a program. Forecasted and balanced resource needs against program requirements, managed operations and salary budget of $40 million for 285-person department. Led start-up of offshore activities; achieved 38% increase in productivity, decreased operational costs by 35%.Implemented DFSS techniques within the organization to optimize mass, cost, and product performance.

Known as DaimlerChrysler during this time period. Responsible for $60 million annual variable costs and $80 million tooling investment.Designed underbody at 60% cost of exit vehicle with improved performance standards. Example: rear rail assy; reduced part count from 34 to 22, reduced by 38 lbs/vehicle, saved over $40/vehicle, increased impact, NVH, and dynamic performance of system.Lead for BIW cost, weight, and investment (CWI), part and assembly quality, DFMEA, DVP&R, timing, source packages, part procurement, and supplier relations.

Vehicle Synthesis Project Manager for vehicle DVP&R, testing, and Voice of the Customer issues for the multi-award winning 2005 Chrysler 300, Dodge Charger, and Magnum (LX platform). • Managed vehicle durability and Consumer Reports resolution process, which included weekly updates to Executive Team.• Tested vehicles on Consumer Reports ride route in CT.• Keynote speaker at International Daimler Benz Body Symposium.• Supported multiple launches for Manufacturing & Quality Assurance.• Developed mig-welding guidelines/process for manufacturing.

BIW Structure Sr. Engineer responsible for product manufacturing process and BIW assembly, including shingling, welding and joining along with vehicle repair both in plant and in service. Accountable for CAE/FEA analysis and testing for development of FMVSS and IHS safety standards, NVH (acoustic & tactile) & durability of vehicle structure to targets. Acquired US Patent for low cost, light weight, reinforced vehicle framing process & design.

Worked in Body Shop, Trim-Chassis and Final Line, as well as supplier quality. BIW SPC & Dimensional Control, weld quality, process capability, supplier quality, body build issues, and fit and finish. Increased fastener torque and angle FTC 97%.

Design and Release engineer for JA engine compartment, dash, frt floor, frt chassis crossmembers (over 180 components). Conducted Purchasing & Supplier Quality Production Part Approval Process buy-off (PPAP). US Patent for spot welded aluminum chassis crossmember that allowed for HVAC system fill and validation off line prior to decking to vehicle.
