CurrentReports to the Archivist of the United States. Member of Executive Leadership team.Directs Office of Innovation programs: Open Government, UX design, crowdsourcing, digitization, web, description, catalog, project management, authorities and next generation digital reference, and research and development on emerging technologies.Manages nine direct reports, four division directors, 60 staff, and contractors. Oversees $7.5 million annual operating budget as well as digitization grants totaling over $1.7M.Competed for and received two White House Presidential Innovation Fellows to work on innovation projects aimed at transforming agency work processes. Established cross-agency Digitization Governance Board to ensure staff engagement in developing digitization strategy for the agency. Published strategy in December 2014. Increased digital copies available in the catalog from 300,000 in 2012 to over 92 million today. Spearheaded the development of the agency's first social catalog that supports public participation through tagging, transcription, comments. Advocated for user-centric agency strategic plan, successfully developed numerous initiatives under each goal and became agency owner for "Make Access Happen" goal.Launched the Innovation Hub, a place for staff and the public to work together on projects that enhance online engagement. Over 500,000 digital copies scanned by the public in our catalog from this effort.Launched the Internal Collaboration Network (ICN), a social business platform that allows geographically and organizationally disparate staff to connect easily with each other. Today it is a thriving platform for collaboration and communities across the National Archives.Host for inter-agency Open Government working group and GLAM- Wikipedia advisory committee meetings.Advisory board member to Library and Archives of Canada. Frequent speaker at national and international archival conferences.
