Throughout my life and career, I have been drawn to higher education and nonprofit organizations as institutions where I can build communities and connections with far-reaching impact.As a leader at Harvard University, I have served as Deputy Director / Senior Associate Director of the Harvard Joint Center for Housing Studies and Assistant Dean for Faculty Affairs with the Graduate School of Design. In both roles, building operational effectiveness has been critical and I’ve enjoyed the opportunity to elevate programs and processes by uncovering core needs and connecting the dots to appropriate resources. Key successes have included implementation of the tenure track at the Graduate School of Design and doubling fundraising capacity at the Harvard Joint Center for Housing Studies. Both projects required extensive strategic planning, relationship management, and cross-functional leadership skills.Each of my higher education leadership roles has also required creative problem-solving to build programs and procedures that best meet the needs of constituents. That is why co-founding the Faculty Affairs Network, Northeast was a natural fit. Connecting faculty affairs professionals across the northeast for professional development, education, and networking met a need in the higher education ecosystem that now serves to advance best practices.In addition to my work at Harvard University, I have also been actively engaged with community organizations, specifically in the housing and education sectors. As a Board Member and leader, I consistently seek out opportunities to collaborate with community stakeholders and develop innovative and impactful programs and resources.
