Quaker Pathways Forward: Rekindling the Fire of Fox MinistryPamela Boyce Simms is an evolutionary culture designer who convenes the Mid-Atlantic Transition Hub (MATH) ─a six-state network of environmental activists. She is a veteran of local, regional, and national resilience-building with the Transition environmental movement, and currently works with international Quaker, Buddhist, and African Diaspora Earthcare networks. Her ministry, entitled, Quaker Pathways Forward: Rekindling the Fire of Fox, invites Friends and Quaker organizations to formulate a clear, unified vision for social transformation. To that end, Pamela uses scientific understanding of the language, architecture, and function of the mind and brain to: a) inform Quaker contemplative practice, and, b) reduce cognitive distortion in the discernment process. Boyce Simms holds degrees from Georgetown University's Edmund Walsh School of Foreign Service, the L'Université de Dakar, in Sénégal, West Africa, and is certified as a Leadership Coach and Neurolinguistics Master Practitioner. She is also a Contributing Author and Editor at the Grassroots Economic Organizing (GEO) Editorial Collective, and an author at Resilience.org, a project of The Post Carbon Institute. A Buddhist-Quaker, Pamela is a 2016-17 Resident Research Scholar at the Pendle Hill Quaker Center for Study and Contemplation, as well as a Buddhist Meditation Instructor.
