In 2015 I set up a few Facebook pages that I ran purely on a voluntary basis to share positive news about employment and up-skilling opportunities for people struggling to find work at a time when we had 9.8% unemployment rate in Ireland. I wanted to break down barriers to employment and at the same time help employers to showcase their jobs. After all, a job is not just a paycheck, having a successful career provides far more meaning in our lives than just money and changes the face of generations to come.I have worked hard in my life, but have never forgotten where the best training came from. I was very fortunate to have Aunts, Uncles and Grandparents that were Street Traders, Dockers, Factory Workers, Newspaper Sellers, Stall holders in the Dandelion Market where hand knitted Jumpers and Cardigans that my Mam, Grandmother, Aunties made were sold. We also have a history around horse drawn carriages - which my cousins still run today, rag & bone, coal merchants, wig makers and french polishers. These people are my idols and heros and have shown me the value of hard work and entrepreneurship when we didn't even know what that word meant!After my followers grew on social media I was approached by companies asking if they could advertise their vacancies.
