I have been in education since I was 16 years old. I taught preschool for 4 years, and then completed my degree in Chemistry and Secondary Education. I have been in a high school science classroom for 15 years. For the past 5 years, I have worked with the largest school district in Missouri to build a Graduation Monitoring Program to raise the graduation rate from 85% to over 96% and reduce the dropouts from over 165 per cohort to 4-20 per cohort. I currently work as the Coordinator of Site Interventions in the oldest and most diverse high school in Springfield, MO. I work with the administrative team and building leaders to implement interventions, monitor and address attendance issues, supervision, academic interventions, and help families to support their students to find success. I completed my Masters in K-12 Educational Administration and would like to take my career to the next level in administration. I was awarded my EdS in August of 2016. I plan to complete my EdD. I am an ABD working on completing my dissertation to receive my EdD in Educational Leadership. Strengths include leadership, data analysis, flexibility, program monitoring, supervision, mentoring, coaching, program development, planning, networking, evaluation, encouragement, goal settingI am also a therapeutic foster parent where I work with at-risk teens in our home. We also do traditional foster parenting for little ones and have been blessed to adopt three of our placements.
