The ABS platform simplifies bifurcation disease treatment, potentially converting many Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting (“CABG”) cases to Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (“PCI”), commonly referred to as coronary stenting . This approach offers a safer, less invasive alternative to open-heart surgery, improving patient outcomes and recovery times. ABS is well advanced in its regulatory process, with IDE filing targeted for January 2025. In October 2023, the company received FDA Breakthrough Device Designation, followed by the successful completion of animal trials in October 2024. With $40 million invested, ABS is a Series B-stage company, including $10.4 million Series A in November 2020 (led by Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and Abiomed/Johnson & Johnson)and a $20 million SAFE round in May 2024. A Series B financing is targeted for 2025 to coincide with completion of a human Early Feasibility Study (“EFS”). The U.S. Pivotal Trial is scheduled to commence in late 2025 with FDA approval targeted for late 2026.
