Pam Hamamoto is an accomplished diplomat and visionary leader with an impressive record in driving substantial progress on a wide range of global issues. In 2014 she was appointed by President Obama as U.S. Ambassador / Permanent Representative and Chief of Mission to the United Nations in Geneva, thereby overseeing the U.S.’s largest overseas multilateral diplomatic post. From 2014-2017, Pam supported President Obama’s deep commitment to multilateral diplomacy by leading and strengthening the U.S.’s multilateral engagement with the U.N., International Organizations, and Ambassadors from 150+ countries in Geneva. In 2017, she served as a Government Fellow at the Geneva Centre for Security Policy, an international foundation dedicated to fostering peace, security, and stability. She is currently representing the Department of State and the Department of Health and Human Services as lead U.S. negotiator on a global pandemic accord being negotiated at the World Health Organization.
