Consulting services on non-profit organizational development, including development/fundraising, communications and marketing, program and grants management, systems and processes improvement, policy, talent retention and recruitment, governance and board development.

The President/CEO serves as the responsible agent for the achievement of the mission to create and enhance educational opportunities for DPSCD students, families and educators. As the Foundation's third and extremely proud President/CEO, this is achieved by creating strategies for fund development in order to build capacity, serving as trusted stewards, increasing and expanding programming, and messaging to our community the good news as well as the overwhelming critical resource needs inside the District. We must leverage community partnerships and maximize available resources through collaboration, cooperation, and coordination. Our five priorities include: early childhood education and literacy, fine and performing arts, STEM, career pathways, and out-of-classroom experiences (field trips, scholarships, community outreach, parental engagement, professional development) linked to academic outcomes. For those of us, like myself, who are products of DPS, who received that excellence experience (I certainly did), it is our call to action. Much has changed in our City and in order to create more meaningful and impactful educational experiences we must also recognize and address the enormous economic and social barriers to our children's success. Families in our communities need comprehensive solutions for everyday living. The Foundation wants to provide that support.We are committed to integrity, accountability and transparency, after all, there are 50,000 children relying on us.

Created the new administrative and fiscal agency responsible for the delivery of workforce programs, training, and services to the businesses and citizens of Detroit. Led all activities in relation to transitioning the city-run workforce department to a non-profit agency in 4 months resulting in a 30% decrease in operating costs, a 75% decrease in contract processing and vendor payment times, and exceeding performance in 77% of measured outcomes. Doubled customer visits and placements, heightened marketing and communications, the creation of new employer engagement strategies and increased partner agency collaborations. Detroit Workforce Development Board was named 2013 Board of Excellence by the MI Works! Association.
