Team Leader (Supervisor, Trainer, Safety Meeting Instructor, Management)Alcoa 1999 - 2003I attribute this position to the beginning of my career. As a Machine Operator, I quickly saw the need for standardization and training. After some fierce competition for a Team Leader position, I was promoted. There were 4 major accomplishments:1) While working with operators, we were able to CREATE Best Practice manuals for the 4 major pieces of equipment in the Fabrication Department.2) I was able to TRAIN machine operators on basic mathematic concepts, which resulted in producing accurate “weight tickets.”3) Conducted mini SAFETY meetings for 15+ employees before each shift to increase safety awareness and decrease accidents.4) I learned how to SOLVE PROBLEMS. During my 12-hour shifts, I was able to build a trusting relationship with the maintenance department. This opened the dialogue for them to train me on how to troubleshoot mechanical equipment and identify mechanical trends.
