The California Summer Meal Coalition is a statewide network united to combat hunger and obesity by helping California’s children in need access free, healthy meals through the USDA’s summer nutrition programs.

The Curtain Call Company, organized by a group of local theatre veterans, produces adult-cast comedies, dinner theatre murder mysteries, youth comedies and musicals and some small cast musicals for the public, private parties, and corporate events. Designed to expand upon the theatrical offerings of North County, the Curtain Call Company provides a style of theater not typically offered by other local theater companies. All performances are held in our hometown of Fallbrook, California and our casts and crew are drawn from its many talented residents. We welcome everyone to be a part of the audience or audition to become a part of the shows themselves.

PROFESSIONAL COUNCIL CHAIRThe state council chair is responsible for an active functioning council. The chair is also responsible for meeting goals and timelines established by the CASBO Board of Directors and the Annual Conference Committee. Specific responsibilities include:1. Provide leadership and direct the activities of a state professional council, including the scheduling and chairing of council meetings.2. Review, sign and forward to CASBO for payment all reimbursement claims from committee member attendance at state council meetings, following the policies established by the CASBO Board of Directors.3. Assign and coordinate the section professional council activities, prioritizing projects, establishing timelines and assignments by section interests, resources and size.4. Collaborate with the Annual Conference Committee.5. Coordinate and participate in the professional council’s session presentation at the annual conference, ensuring that all Annual Conference submission deadlines are met.6. Provide written reports to the CASBO Board of Directors.7. Cooperate with section professional councils in the development of section workshops and special programs.8. Coordinate with section presidents on the appointment of section council chairs.9. Respond to the request of state CASBO for roster and meeting date information.10. Utilize the services of and exchange information and advice with the Legislative Committee.11. Support the goals and objectives of CASBO as defined in the current member-driven strategic plan.12. Professional council chairs must place a major emphasis on intra-council communication. Copies of a state chair's official correspondence and meeting minutes should be sent to councilmembers, CASBO board liaison, the chair of the Annual Conference Committee and the Executive Director.13. Submit the council’s master calendar for the year to the CASBO Board of Directors 30 days before the June board meeting.

We envision all San Diego County school meals and snacks are fresh, healthy, delicious, and made with select local products. Our mission is to increase food literacy and access to local, healthful foods in school environment through collaboration, education, environmental change, program development, and outreach. Our purpose is to increase understanding of the food system and its connection to human, environmental, and economic health; share and develop best practices for farm to school; and promote collaboration among local, state, and national farm to school stakeholders to increase the amount of healthful and local foods in the school environments. My responsibilities include:• Increase education and awareness regarding the connection between regional food systems and student health and well-being - Visit local farms to promote on-going communication and learning among institutions, farms, and food stakeholders - Identify and share nutrition education and food literacy resources and curricula to help support connections between the classroom, cafeteria, and the greater food system.• Create and promote opportunities for networking among farm to school stakeholders- - Host bi-monthly farm to school task force meetings - Conduct professional development training for the preparation of fresh and local foods in schools• Provide technical assistance to school districts, farmers, and distributors to support an increase in farm to school programming in San Diego and Riverside districts. - Defining and goal setting for Farm to School program - Increase school district commitments to source sustainably-raised, hormone-and antibiotic-free, local animal protein sources, and local fruits and vegetables when possible - Develop outreach materials to education the public regarding the role of, goals, and activities of the Farm to School Task Force

The Mission Theatre is best known for high quality community theatre productions. It was built in 1946, as a movie theater. In the late 1980’s, the local community theatre group began the theatres transformation to be used as a live theatre playhouse. It was purchased in 1993, by the Hornsveld family, who quickly restored it to it’s 1940 art deco glory.The Mission Theatre is now the resident theatre to CAST Productions a 501C3 non-profit performing arts school for children of all ages. CAST also produces several performances each year with adult actors.The Mission Theatre is a charming venue, designed in the grand tradition of the old movie house. The lobby and interior of the venue has been wonderfully preserved by the venue staff, and the stage is designed to allow great sight lines from any seat in the house.With a quaint charm and a small town feel, the Mission Theatre is a fabulous place to see local and regional performers in action.
