CurrentAligns goals and objectives to achieve company’s strategic objectives. Manages the County's workers’ compensation insurance program for over 730 employees in 30 separate departments. Responsible for claims management, injury investigations, return to work program, analyzing loss runs data, negotiates contract with TPA, & develops policies, procedures, & training to minimize further losses.Manages the property & casualty insurance policies for 570 auto/trailers/apparatus, 75 properties, & 300+ pieces of equipment. Responsible for claims management, investigations, analyzing loss runs data, negotiates contract with broker, develops & coordinates programs, policies, & training to minimize losses. Receives and investigates reports and complaints concerning employee and citizen safety and health concerns.Conducts formalized inspections of job sites, building facilities, public parks, equipment & vehicles, confirms compliance with safety laws, rules, and regulations; & provides recommendations to correct unsafe conditions. Participates and leads County-wide and departmental safety committee meetings. Coordinates a comprehensive safety program and conducts training sessions for supervisors and employees.Identifies & analyzes risks that would cause monetary loss to the CountyAnalyzes the budgetary impact and implements best practices, prevention strategies, & mitigation. Acts as liaison with attorneys in the management of lawsuits.Administers Random, Post-Accident, and Reasonable Suspension Drug and Alcohol ScreeningsAssist with HR tasks – employee relations, employee engagement, new hire orientation, FMLA, ADA, benefits, etc.
